Virtual Reality
Have you ever wanted to experience what flying a spaceship was like? Being a chef in a kitchen? Or even an office worker looking at a dinosaur? All of these things are achievable with what is known as virtual reality, or VR. VR is taking any kind of visual computer simulation, making it 3D, and making it everything that you see. It becomes your reality.

Virtual reality has been around for centuries. Early artists made murals that were three dimensional and would move as you looked around it, standing still. But, if we are considering Virtual Reality as technology, then it won’t really begin until 1920. The first flight simulator came out. These kind of simulations were slowly improved upon until around 1988 where one of the first VR headsets came out. Where someone could actually experience something other than flying an airplane, or a space shuttle etc. However, models were very clunky and impractical. The first types of VR headsets that can actually work with all kinds of different programs are finally coming out. The Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Playstation VR, Samsung’s Gear VR, and more are now widely purchasable to most people. As of 2016 Virtual Reality is arguably the most technologically advanced we have come for the common public.

By using Virtual Reality, millions of productive opportunities open up for anyone! We don’t only have flight simulators anymore, you can take CPR class from your bedroom at home, or take online virtual classes, even be a surgeon! There are unlimited possibilities with VR. You can go to Egypt and look at the Pyramids, land a rover on the moon, even learn how to make desserts. VR can not only be used for gaming, which it has taken great extent in, but education. For any level of learning! If you can think it, it can be programmed, which can be seen through VR.

This is Ford’s Virtual Reality system where they test drive cars and other things. Proof that it is becoming something of common use!
While Virtual Reality can be of something very useful for certain companies, it can also be used for schooling. The beauty of VR is the capability and possibilities. This is why learning how to pilot a spaceship can now be taught to just about anyone. Make anything your reality with VR.
