Green/Blue Screen on iMovie

Though you can't use this feature on an iPad, it's great for every iMovie user to know. This will be helpful to any student doing a presentation on iMovie or someone who is a part of a film festival.

To use this you will need either a green screen or blue screen pulled over a wall, though you could also use a wall that is painted green or blue. In my examples I used part of the wall that was painted green and to go on that green part of the wall I put in a picture of Mrs. Leavitt!

STEP 1

Create a New movie and choose a picture or video that you want ON your green or blue screen.

My example background picture.

STEP 2

Whatever green/blue screen video you have, put it on top of the background video/picture. You can put it anywhere you want it to show up in the clip.

I wanted mine at the beginning, but you can put it anywhere in the video

STEP 3

Click the top video so it's outlined in yellow, then click the square above it on the viewer. Select Green/Blue Screen.

COMPLETE

The only problem you may have now is the size. Try using pictures or videos with green screens on them that fill the viewer. Horizontal usually works better!

Other than that, you're done!

Finished!

If you still aren't understanding please feel free to email techhelpdesk@rsu57.org! Happy filming!
