Learn a Language on your Own!

Have you ever been interested in learning a new language that is not offered here at school, or just a new one in general? There’s a way you can with an app called Duolingo, available for free on the app store. This website offers numerous amount of languages which a person can learn, study, and become more knowledgeable of. This website is especially important before traveling, because while it may not be able to reach you to fluently speaking, it will lay down the basics and allow you somewhat be able to communicate, which is essential when traveling to a new area. This step by step example will allow you to learn how to get yourself set up before beginning your studies.

- When finding the website, you will be brought to this page. It will display that you will be studying Spanish, translating everything to that language.

- To change this setting, click on the American flag over in the right corner. This will then drop a menu, where you then shall click on Ingles.

- That will then bring you to this page, where it will display the language in which the website offers. To change the main language, click on the 'Yo Hablo:' (which means I speak) box and select your language. The one selected in this post was english.

- After selecting your language, the page in which offered the languages will reappear in the language that you selected, displaying the new options. Select the language you want to study.

- Once selecting this language, it will bring you to the learning page, where you will get the option to take the placement test or begin fresh off. Decide which one is best for you, than let the learning begin!

- If you are enjoying the studying and want to continue to learn that language, save your progress an create a profile! To do this, click on 'Create A Profile' and fill out the required information. Happy Learning!
